At Rudolph Care we have two different serums in our collection: Instantly Smoothing Serum and Firming Perfector Serum.

Your Açai Facial Oil starts out as a tiny berry on a palm tree before it begins its journey towards your beauty shelf.

The açai harvest

Deep within the rainforest of Amazonas the açai berries grow wildly in the shade of the rainforest’s palm trees. Rudolph Care collaborates with 150 local families in the rainforest who year after year harvest the açai for us. This collaboration is also a link in the preservation of the rain forest - the lungs of the Earth. We’re extremely proud to take part in this collaboration, and on her travels Andrea Elisabeth Rudolph has created a special and personal bond with the families. When harvesting açai, the locals carefully handpick the berries and place them into baskets after having climbed the tree trunks with bare hands and a small sack wrapped around their feet. One liter of açai oil is extracted from approximately 3 baskets of berries.

Açai is shipped to local collaborators

Many different types of rainforest are found in Amazonas and the type of rainforest we get our açai from is called flooded rainforest. This means that transportation is mainly on water – therefore the açai berries are sailed to nearby harbor. The harbor is a junction, where local men meet in the afternoon to carry the berries off the boats. The mood at the harbor is almost a physical sensation. The brawn mixed with the heat and the masculine energy is breathtaking and fascinating, and you can spend hours just observing and absorbing the mood.

The berry is turned into oil

With our local collaborators the açai oil is extracted and refined from the many berries. The first step in that process is letting the berries soak in warm water and leaving them to dry in the sun afterwards. This process makes the pulp loosen from the seed, and it’s from that very pulp we extract açai oil. But what about the rest of the berry? To reduce waste and to exploit the tiny power berry to its fullest we also make açai extract from the pulp - and the seed itself becomes granules.

The final product takes shape

As the raw materials reach our production in Denmark the creation of the final product, Açai Facial Oil, begins. Açai Facial Oil mainly consists of pure, organic açai oil added a bit of vitamin-E and our natural signature fragrance. Producing our beauty products in Denmark is also an important and active choice for us. Local production has roots in our sustainability tenet as we by means of local production can minimize our strain on the environment. This way of working implies a more expensive production though it’s a much greener alternative to production outside of Denmark. Besides, with the solid laws and collective agreements within Denmark we ensure that the working conditions for those who take part of our production every day are fair and well.
