- Isolde (03) Limited Edition contains titanium dioxide, which has been deemed problematic in the European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA) latest report on the naturally occurring dye. Data in the EFSA report that have cast doubt on the safety of the dye are primarily based on nano form titanium dioxide. Nano denotes the size of particles and refers to 1-100 nanometers. A nanometer is equal to one millionth of a millimeter, which according to the Danish Environmental Protection Agency is approximately 100,000 times smaller than the thickness of a human hair. At Rudolph Care, we do not use titanium dioxide in nano form, as our Ecocert COSMOS Organic certification does not allow it. Titanium dioxide is being phased out in foods as a precautionary measure but remains approved for use in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Since going into production, the Nordic Swan Ecolabel has decided to follow the EFSA's assessment as a precautionary measure and will in future not certify lip products that contain titanium dioxide - this is why we won't be restocking Isolde. Our current stock of Isolde is still Nordic Swan Ecolabeled and may be sold as such. Read more here.

- Hydrogenated Castor Oil
Wax, also known as ’castor wax’, extracted from castor beans (ricinus beans). Works as plant based vaseline with a moisture retaining, softening and caring effect. It creates a membrane on the skin that ensures long-lasting protection. The wax also adds texture to the product.
- Hydroxystearic/Linolenic/Oleic Polyglycerides
A plant based softening agent (‘plant-based lanolin’) with emulsifying, hydrating and sensory properties. Adds texture to the product.

Lanolin is a fat that originates from sheep wool. The lanolin we use in Rudolph Care originates strictly from wool production. Lanolin is god for dry and flaky skin because it creates a membrane on the skin that protects from loss of moisture – while also preserving the skin’s elasticity and suppleness.

Honey naturally retains moisture as it both attracts and holds it. The vitamins in honey are primarly ascorbic acid, vitamin C and vitamin B. The relevant minerals in honey are phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, iron, sodium and potassium. Equal parts of the proteins in honey come from plant materials and from the bees.

Natural color and mica. Mica is a natural and easily degradable mineral, accepted by both the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and Ecocert Cosmos Organic. Rudolph Care only uses mica from suppliers who are RMI certified. RMI means Responsible Minerals Initiative and ensures that the mineral is extracted responsibly.

Castor oil is a good, taste neutral oil. Castor oil comes from the ricinus bean and is full of nourishment and a strong ability to lock moisture into the skin.
- Rubus Idaeus Seed Oil (raspberry seed oil)
The oil from raspberry seeds is strengthening and moisturizing on dry skin and damaged lips that lack vitality.

The extract from saltwort, that appears naturally along the Danish coastline, is known for its caring and moisture retaining abilities.

Stabilizer and thickener.

A sugar that originates from organic cane sugar. Adds natural taste, texture and moisture.
