Good hair, right?
Shampoo and conditioner are so much more than a couple of bottles sitting on your bathroom shelf. They can lift your hair and brighten your day. Your life? Almost, at least.
Marie Lodberg, Communications Director at Rudolph Care, shares her love for our shampoo and conditioner. One-dimensional? Absolutely. Honest? One hundred percent.
"They lift the hair. Literally and figuratively."
Now it's all about shampoo and conditioner. And I suppose it’s a bit of a love letter to the two products. You might be thinking, “well of course the copywriter is going to praise products from her own shelves.”
Yeah. I’ll say this: I actually have a very particular fondness for Herbal Mint Shampoo and Forever Soft Conditioner. Because they lift the hair. Literally and figuratively.
When I’m standing there in the shower, about to wash my hair, it should be pretty simple. But I’m challenged, because we live in an old apartment building, and if I shower between 7 and 7:30, not a single drop comes out of the shower. And I mean, not one drop. So when there is water, I use it properly.
I wash my hair every other day. Sometimes every third. That’s also when a bun becomes necessary, I’d say. That probably has more to do with the quality of my “fine” hair than the long-lasting effect of the shampoo. I love the crackling lather and crisp scent of Herbal Mint Shampoo. It’s like a micro-dose of aromatherapy. It makes me straighten my back (even though it’s crooked – I have moderate to severe scoliosis, well, there you go…), and it feels like a small hit of dopamine.
I usually wash my hair twice. First round to get rid of dirt, oil and build-up. Second round to really get to the root of it. It feels good. It feels right.
"Has this shampoo and conditioner changed my life? Not at all. Have they given me slightly better hair karma? Yes."
Then, conditioner. Easy to work with. Two pumps, just through the lengths. The scent is more romantic. A field of flowers on a summer day, that kind of energy. You can leave it in as a hair mask, but I rarely (read: never) have time for that. I have two kids, Alf who’s three and Babette who’s six, both with a very clear need for my attention, especially when I’m in the shower. So they sit on the toilet or roam around the bathroom floor: “Mooom, when are you done?” “Soon, darling.”
Both of my kids also use Rudolph Care’s shampoo and conditioner. But they get their hair washed with Blossom Shampoo, because they’ve had Herbal Mint Shampoo in their eyes once, and found it just a bit too fresh. So now they’re convinced that only Blossom Shampoo will do. You pick your battles, and I’m perfectly fine with that.
Once my hair is washed, I dry it upside down – just the roots. Again, wherever time can be optimized, it is. And now we get to the real point of difference of the shampoo and conditioner, as a marketing person might call it.
They are resistant to gravity.
I don’t know how that’s possible – I only got a mediocre grade in science back in school. Still… it’s as if the shampoo lifts my hair from the scalp, and it stays that way for the next day or so, without any styling products. And I’ve never exactly been shy about using those. The conditioner gives the lengths just enough moisture that the ends – which should probably have been cut a month or two ago – come together nicely.
My hair doesn’t fall flat. Let me say that again: it doesn’t fall flat.
Here’s how I see it: Has this shampoo and conditioner changed my life? Not at all. Have they given me slightly better hair karma? Yes.
