Meet our founder

Andrea Elisabeth Rudolph

When Andrea Elisabeth Rudolph was expecting her first child in 2006 and discovered through a blood test that her body was full of harmful chemicals, it became the beginning of something she hadn’t foreseen: a lifelong mission. She refused to compromise; not with her health, her beauty products, or her future. That’s why she created Rudolph Care – a heartfelt tribute to the body, the planet, and the generations to come.

Once upon a time in 2009…

Rudolph Care was founded in Copenhagen in 2009 by Andrea Elisabeth Rudolph, who at the time worked as a journalist and TV and radio host. A blood test conducted by Greenpeace had revealed that her body contained harmful chemicals – some of which came from beauty products. What did she do? She cleared her bathroom shelf and went searching for beautiful, high-quality skincare with effect, texture, scent, and packaging – all free from harmful substances. The search ended in vain. Andrea didn’t find what she was looking for.

Andrea’s mission

Andrea is not one to shrug her shoulders and wait for someone else to act. She gets to work. She began developing the kind of skincare she herself was missing: “Advanced, high-quality, certified skincare without harmful chemicals – in delicate packaging,” as she says.

Said and done. Andrea founded Rudolph Care – built on uncompromising certifications, tireless curiosity, and a deep desire to do things properly. Because only the best is good enough – for herself, for others, for the body, and for the planet.

The formulas for the first eight products were created with the Brazilian açai berry as a key ingredient — a vital force that still beats at the heart of Rudolph Care. Andrea fell in love with the berries during a trip to Rio de Janeiro, where açai is a natural part of daily life, enjoyed for its taste and extraordinary properties. She was fascinated by their rich content of antioxidants, minerals, and essential fatty acids — and by how they could strengthen, protect, and make the skin glow.

“Rudolph Care unites exclusivity with responsibility and transparency. We strive for harmony between effect, texture, and aesthetics, always with care for the environment and your health. It comes from the heart when we say: Rudolph Care – for generations to come,” says Andrea.

Rudolph Care on the rise

Life doesn’t stand still and neither does Rudolph Care. From a small one-woman business in a backyard on Frederiksberg in Copenhagen, where Andrea herself packed creams and shipped orders, the company moved in 2018 to Valby and into a house that is equal parts grand villa and Pippi Longstocking’s whimsical Villa Villekulla. The front door is, naturally, pink — and inside you’ll find fresh bouquets, glowing candles, fruit bowls, all-you-can-drink French press coffee, and colleagues who are passionate about what they do and laugh while doing it. This is where the world of Rudolph Care unfolds.

Inside the villa, ideas are born and evolve into products, campaigns, packaging, events, and new formulations. In stores, the products live on – passed to you with guidance and care, so you can make the most of them at home.

Andrea launched the first eight Rudolph Care products in 2009. Today, the portfolio has grown to more than 40 products – including innovative sun care, a foaming and nourishing haircare line, natural fragrances, carefully designed accessories, and much more. The original eight products are still part of the collection – their formulas have been refined and names slightly adjusted over the years, but the classics remain, and they’re still among our most loved products.

Here, Andrea herself tells the story of how Rudolph Care came to be.
